Alex Lawley Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 This is my recently completed 1:24 scale panel van (the one with the jägermeister box art). This kit has a number of firsts for me- -The first non-aeroplane kit I've ever built -The first non military kit I've ever built -And the first kit I've ever uploaded on Britmodeller All in all it I think it went rather well, with the exception of the doors that didn't seem to fit (the drivers door was too tight and the passenger door left a huge gap along the back of the door). However as I am the owner of a old beetle I can confirm that the doors never close quite right so it could have been intentional on revell's part. 14
Alpha Delta 210 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Great result. I love the odd side door and the chipped paint.
Alex Lawley Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 Thanks, I've never tried 'chipping' before but I am quite happy with how it turned out.
ElectricLightAndy Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Nice job, very realistic knackered van Andy

Cooper645 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I like the end result, some very effective weathering. Welcome to the forum and the car section. Coops
Pete in Lincs Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Well, I'm sure you wouldn't be allowed to park that in Woodhall! Very tatty and all the better for it. Nice one, Alex
Spiny Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Looks like a great way to start out on here, you should be proud of that. I have this kit sitting in the stash and hope that when the time comes I can approach the quality you've achieved here. Thanks for mentioning the doors too, I'll try and remember that when I get around to this one.
Marco F. Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Yep, your Bulli is looking real good. I still remember the times when these T1 were still dayly drivers and looked just like yours..long time ago. Thanks for showing your Modell Marco F
Paul H Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Very cool! The patina looks great, and it's unusual to see one at the factory ride height, but all the better for it. Seeing your build certainly makes me prefer the panel van version more than the samba or camper versions that Revell have also released.
