Alan P
Great photos. Every post in this thread is like an education for me at least!

zebra
Both now ready to paint - first coat of white has gone on since I took these photos. The pitot or whatever it is on the tip of the NKC-135A's fin (I think it might be an aerial actually) inevitably snapped off, although it happened indecently quickly this time. cheers Julian

Richard E
An interesting couple of very "left field" builds: the homebrewed replacement parts and decals which you have produced for the conversions are as good as many produced and sold by specialist manufacturers. It's only when you see the two types next to each other you appreciate how large the DC8 is. I thought the short fuselage version would be quite small. The stretched version it was cut down from would have been quite a big model.

zebra
Thanks @Romeo Alpha Yankee and @rob85 Decals done: Flat coat next, then need to finish the engines and undercarriage and add a load of antennae, then they'll be finished.

zebra
Small update. Flat coats on and engines done. I've also got to work painting an awful lot of wheels! cheers Julian
zebra
Undercarriage on, blade aerials added, and the EC-24A is finished: More in the gallery shortly. The NKC-135A needs its blade aerials and the Tree Horn and Tree Shark underwing jamming pods - I've printed these, just need to paint them and attach them: Should be finished tomorrow. cheers Julian

Jabba
Two well built models of two unusual aircraft, well done. I also notice when they are together how much bigger the DC- 8 is and that is with a shortened fuselage.

It would be better than my kitchen bench! 2 hours ago, Jabba said: I also notice when they are together how much bigger the DC- 8 is and that is with a shortened fuselage. Yes I was surprised by that. The longer fuselage of the unmodified kit is almost not-sure-where-it-would-go length!
