Supermarine Type 300, June-July  1936, CMR kit 1/72nd scale

Here is my second kit of this group build. It is the CMR resin kit of the spitfire kit in a later guise from the first flight. Not a bad kit, but not without its problems, not helped by warped fuselage halves. The paint finish is concocted from Vallejo paints to match an old jar of Compucolor paint, that actually matches the 1930 BS381 colour No1 Sky Blue pretty well. Decals are from the kit and very thin and the bright metalwork on the wheels and spinner was produced from a Molotow Chrome pen with some varnish to tone it down a bit. I am fairly happy with it and it think the colour looks suitably 1930's

Build Thread is here

Hi all,

I finally finished the last bits of the build.  As always a lovely kit from Eduard, that almost clicks together.  If you wonder why the lighting for the overhead shot differs from the others, I couldn’t possibly admit that the cowling joint was showing in overhead sun - in any normal lighting it’s perfect, so that shot was when it clouded over.

Cheers

Will
