Hunter F.4 / GA.11

Good morning all

I hope you are all keeping safe during these trying times, my question is:

Not knowing that much about the Hawker Hunter were F.4s retro fitted with the dog-tooth wing ? if so for a conversion to a GA.11 as used by FRADU from Yeovilton would I be better of with the Airfix 1/48 F.4 or F.6. ?

Hi Chris,

  The F.4 kit has the dogtooth wing as standard - the instructions require you to cut the dogtooth off and replace it with a separate part.

 

You'll need the F4 kit anyway as it has the GA.11 nose.

..But yes, GA.11s were ex F.4s with the dog tooth extensions retrofitted and using the F.4 kit is best.

 

 

 

PS, for anyone in doubt it appears the F.4 kit has additional sprues over the standard F.6, so is the better kit to buy whichever version you want to do.
