I have a horrible feeling that the best we can hope for is Telford in November. And even if most things are back up and running there is no guarantee that the government will be willing to allow large indoor events attended by hundreds of people go ahead by then.

Sorry to sound like the party pooper. :(

I don't think you sound like a party pooper, just a realist. I have stopped planning for any Show attendances this year and will concentrate on stocking cheaper stuff that will keep folk amused while stuck at home instead.

You're not the only one with that horrible feeling.

Altough, if IPMS can provide masks for all visitors, and we all stay 6 feet apart .......

Does that scale down to an inch apart for 1/72 modellers?

All the best Chris

We may hold it later in the year if things settle down quickly & guests, clubs and traders are available.

With memories of some of the more fragrant attendees at Telford, I'm suddenly seeing the plus side of social distancing.

Just found this. Agree completely with you.

I recall someone describing attendees at Model Shows as 'Maladjusted, malcontent and malodorous' :tmi:

Yep.

Sad to say

East Riding of Yorkshire Model Show  6th September 2020 - CANCELLED

Hi,

Sorry to inform you that IPMS Bridlington and Wolds have reluctantly decided to cancel their show in September.

This is due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the Government restrictions currently existing, and the very likelihood that public and social events/gatherings will still not be permitted by the time of the show.

We hope to be back next year.

Cheers,

Kevin

That's a shame was expecting that to be one of the first to be back as things settle down.

Fully understand the reasoning, , but a lot can change in four months..

I was hoping we'd be back to normal by then and pitched up beside each other again this year Paul but not to be. I only have 3 shows left on my calendar (and one of them is in early August so is very unlikely to go ahead).

I need to see which Model shows are still hoping to go ahead this year.  We were scheduled to put on 9 events this year, we managed  2 at the start of the year..... everything else is on hold !

Having held back as long as possible, bearing in mind we operate our show as a joint venture, the IPSWICH show has been cancelled also.

Hopefully we will be back to 'normal' next year.

It is with great regret that we have decided to bow to the inevitable and cancel this years Romsey Scale Model Show.

We have considered postponing it to later in the year but feel that the continued uncertainty about the viability of social gathering does not make this option feasible.

We have already obtained a provisional booking of our venue for Sunday July 11th 2021, which we will confirm in January.

Thank you for your continued support, I hope that you stay well and look forward to welcoming you to our 2021 show.
