Johnny Tip
Hello everyone, being home, I could finally get my photographing wife to take some nice pictures of my proudest diorama work... As the (working) title suggests, the setting is Normandy 1944. Inspired by a picture I saw there while on vaction (we would have gone there again in may, damn you covid-19), I decided to do a scene without fighting. Somewhere south of Gold Beach, troops from the 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division are welcomed as liberators. I am aware this was not always the case, but I didn't want to model a few mute bystanders... The old woman can't believe that the boches are finally gone... In the background is a distant relative of Don Camillo who has also 'joined' the church... "Do hou have a light?" - "I have no matches! " Wine on the 'ouse for the lance corporal... "Hey there, honey" In all the gaiety, there are more silent places... (building those trashcans myself was much cheaper than buying resin ones) What's going on behind this wall? CHICKS! Exactly. Not those! Getting ready for partying with the british boys... That's all, comments and critique welcome, hope you had fun with the pics! Cheers, Johnny 16

The civilians are a mix of Miniart and MasterBox (my favourites when it comes to 'different' figure sets), and the british Tyne-Tees fellers are from Tamiya and their Bren gun carrier. Animals are also from Tamiya (mainly livestock - except the dogs, they are included in their modern US Army accessories set).

bhouse
Absolutely fantastic! I bet the Sergeant Major has something to say about the Lance Corporal's haircut though 😁

The Sergeant Major probably kisses him good night, so he's all right with the haircut 😂
