Tamiya kit, 2 part numbers ? ? ?

Recommended Posts

Morning all. Im new to this scene and I've just got a quick question. I'm looking at the tamiya ts050 race car.

I can see two kits available with different part numbers. What's all that about? Can anyone shine a light on it for me please.

The two numbers are 24349 and 25421

I had a quick look on scalemates, as far as I can tell the difference is the decals. Boxing 24349 is for the 2018 Le Mans cars and 25421 for the 2019 cars.

If you are new to modelling, then the TS050 kit probably isn't a good kit to start with as the build up, paint and decal procedure is quite tricky.

If you want a GT car then I can recommend the Porsche 911 GT1 24186 from tamiya, it is not expensive and builds up into a really nice model.

I agree as I have one in the stash and I've looked through the instructions.

It's not an ideal choice to cut your teeth on so to speak, but if you specifically want to build one then go ahead, it's your choice as long as you enjoy it :)
