F-18E DigiCam - Done!!!

Recommended Posts

I bought this as a quick build, mojo restorer. It didn't work out exactly as I had hoped. But I did have fun, and that's what counts, right?

Great result from the R-M kit. The decals must have caused a few hair-pulling moments 😂

Very nice engine covers...what did you use to make those?

turned out great!

those decals seem to be worth what they charge for them!

the red nozzle covers and RBF tags just break the color enough :) to make it really interesting!!

Thanks all, for the positive comments. The decals were simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting. At one point, after a MARATHON 4+ hour decal session, I was literally cross-eyed. No hyperbole or exaggeration, I couldn't focus my eyes for almost an hour.

Even though it's still a 20 footer, I dig it.

I used thick tissue paper (like the kind you get with new trainers) soaked in modge podge, then shaped into place. A small slice of sprue holds the RBF, and I sprayed Tamiya X-7 Red with some handbrushed highlights. First time and pretty easy. Also my first time to make use of the Eduard RBF that I have stacks of, from every Big-ed set I've ever purchased, Who knew?

That is a great looking Hornet.

I’ve got those decals myself as well as the Syhart ‘100 years of Naval Aviation’ set, so I guess I’ll know how you felt when I get around to using them.

This model is tempting me to make that soon, maybe I could do both together 🤪
