two years is ok.

That's fine by me.  It'll give me time to build the big box of AZ/ICM/KoPro/Tamiya kits I already have.

I'm all for Eduard going backwards. Start with the K-4 (which is a complete different fuse/tail anyway).

Reasons:

- it's the final version of the bf-109

- saw operational use (Bodenplatte)

- Every man and his dog already does G's

- Erla's, G16AS and all those subvariants are essentially niche*

*(oooh, daring! wait for the incoming flak)

K4 I'd love, I'm rather attached to that variant due to the shher ammount of time I used it in War Thunder grinding for my first jet aircraft, building one or two in model form would be good

Perfect I need two of these. One in Czech A.F. markings, the other for my Israeli collection.

The first box announced to come out in February 2022 will be a three-pack - S.199 early, S.199 late and CS.199, with Czechoslovakian and Israeli schemes. Plus some resin extras, I guess. It seems to me that this may be the best purchase. Additionally, you will have a Czechoslovakian two-seater CS.199, which will be silver, so it will look different from the single-seater.

That would be a good choice. The twin cockpit sounds like it will stand out on a shelf.

Hmm interesting. I find it odd that they'd go for the S199 instead of a proper 109, surely there's more market for a proper 1/72 109G up to Eduard standards with as many variants as possible?

Czech Airplane perhaps (patriotism)!! The German version will eventually pop up…

cheers, Jan

Don't forget the use by the Israelis.

Cheers,

The Avia S.199 and CS.199 are based on the Bf 109G, but this is actually a separate production project. That is why it is released first, because the whole thing can be done faster, and in addition it is a model aimed mainly at the Czech market.

This is Special Hobby kit.

So it is.  Thanks!  A lovely kit and, as I said, on par with the Eduard Spitfire moulds and detail.  I can only hope for better with the Eduard S-199.

Yes!

Minimum 2 of those first Limited Edition kits for me.

There are some nice painting schemes. Both Czech and Israeli.

There are still 3 planes left worldwide in museums. I saw them all. :D

They certainly won't. Eduard and Special Hobby work very closely together and it wouldn't make any sense at all.

My point was they cooperated on the 109 E, so why not on later 109’s.
