Does Limited Edition here means the boxing (decals, paint schemes, bonuses, etc.) rather than short-tun moulds? With an eventual Profipack/Weekend normal boxing several months later?

Yes.

This is standard cycle of releases: premiere with Limited Edition Dual Combo, ProfiPack a couple of months later, Weekend six months after the ProfiPack.

Apparently, Eduard plans it’s own 1/72 Bf-109’s starting next year. Until then this thread seems mis-labeled. That title keeps tricking me into clicking.

I don't see it as mislabeled. As far as a know the 109E was produced with Eduard, it's not like Eduard are just reboxing a Special Hobby kit.

There was an Eduard editorial from 2020 that does mention they provided their 1/48 plans to Special Hobby.   It is funny that the corrections that were done to the 1/72 version has Eduard describing them as 'altered it, corrected it, generally modernised it, brought it in line with the latest research available' - they just can't admit that they did produce a modern kit (both 1/32 and 1/48) but with mistakes.

Hopefully that will happen with the F/G/K kits as well so it doesn't have giant exhausts like the 1/48th scale versions.

The premiere was supposed to be in the spring, it will be in the middle of the year, but this is not a problem. It is understandable that with the planned relocation they will have delays.

The most important thing is confirmation of the release of the F to K versions.  The chance that they will also release a two-seater G-12 has increased.

So happy they're starting with the Friedrichs first as those are really what we're crying out for right now in 1/72. The Zvezda kit is really the "best" and it has its own limitations. I'm sure Eduard will sell many boxes of the million Gustav variants when the time comes.

I have to say, the early Gustavs are also really underrepresented.

The G-2 and G-4 were prolific, they fought in all theaters and under the colors of a number of air forces. And there's, what, AZModel's and FineMolds' kits only?

They're not bad kits by any means by the FM is a tad short and "lean", the AZ one has the nose shape issues.
