Zvezda 1/72 Sukhoi 30 MKi/ SM Indian Air Force

Recommended Posts

Finally completed the flapship flighter of the Indian Air Force after years of it being on the wishlist. Built mostly OOB with some custom riveting, and IAF decals from spares.

A big deviation from the norm is building it wheels up- So much fun flying it around the house with my son while making jet sounds and my wife rolling her eyes in the background :D

Waited for a perfect spring evening to finally click photos in the golden sunshine at the park. Natural light makes for perfect photos!

Fantastic. If it wasn't for the acrylic rod I'd have said it was the real thing!!

Alexander that is superb - not my scale but it looks really convincing.

I have taken the liberty of doing some very quick work in Photoshop - what do you think?

That is excellent work Alex, well done.  The weathering and 'hot' areas are superb

With the acrylic rod removed with Photoshop (nice job Malcolm) it looks just like the real thing

Just... wow 🤯

I was going to suggest exactly what @Baldy has done. Photoshop out the stand and those pictures could have been taken at an air show.

Wonderful result! Are the Zvezda kits difficult to build?

Having a 90% done Su-33 on the bench, no they aren't. In fact they're very pleasant to build.

I also meant to say earlier, we need more "in flight" displayed builds, so big thumbs up from me for doing that way (in addition to general praise for quality).

This is simply stunning! The most realistic looking aircraft model I have ever seen.

Add a bit of jet exhaust and remove the stand and these are photos of the real thing.

Amazing job.

Hi Alex,

that weathering is extremely realistic, maybe the most realistic I've ever seen. Can you explain how you did it?

Thanks!

Cheers
