Rickoshea52
I had a look through my Sea King course notes and found these two illustrations of the HF aerial lay out for the HAR3 and 3A as the Airfix instructions are incorrect and appear to be a hybrid of both types. I hope Britmodellers find them useful. Edited March 22, 2020 by Rickoshea52 1
andyf117
With a 3A still to do, filed away - thanks! One point to note is that the 3A drawing shows the final 'short' VHF(FM) 'whip' aerial under the tailboom - the original version was longer, as seen here: Later replaced by the shorter version: That originally retro-fitted to the 3 appears to have been the longest, as in the pic here (airliners.net image so link, rather than pic itself): https://www.airliners.net/photo/UK-Air-Force/Westland-WS-61-Sea-King-HAR3/683740/L Edited March 23, 2020 by andyf117
junglierating
Hmm I believe that was the V(mar) aerial ...not much point having Vtac...whilst still got upper and lower V Air blade antennas. I am sure that you realise that the Mk3 and 3a had different HF radio set ups Edited March 31, 2020 by junglierating
