Takom Bergepanzer 2

Recommended Posts

Thank you all for the great feedback

More work on the crew figures today, I've booked the day off work and am going to have a few hours in the workshop.

I'll have to sort out the driver figure for this build as the Valkyrie set on provides 2 figures, they are very well sculpted and will

the business one painted up. The good thing is that you two sets of heads for each figure so one with the helmet and one with a beret, I'll use one

of the spares for the driver figure. I just have to find a suitable torso to modify yet.

Cheers Si,

So a suitable driver torso has been found and he's in place, I'll have to change his uniform

slightly and sort out a parker for him but I think he will do.

Head is held in place with Blue tac at the moment.

Nice work as usual 👍I can’t get used to seeing Germans in soviet style helmets though!

Decals or paint for the figures?

Ivan

Cheers Ivan, I have some flecktarn decals but I'm leaning towards painting them TBH :frantic:

Driver is now mid conversion from US Army to German Army, Green Stuff used to form the hood and other details.

I'll have to let this cure before adding any more details, not brilliant but better than before:frantic:

Cheers chaps,  I'm still here and well

So the driver is cured off enough to handle and I've checked the fit and the position of his head with the torso and its not bad.

Also modified the rear view mirrors, the plastic arms were just not going to cut it and they had some flash so they got replaced with brass rod.

One more to fit to the top of the crane but that will get done once I rig the pullies and get the top of the boom glued on.

Cheers chaps,

Small update today, padlocks added to the side bins that are just for storage.

Winkie pot base added and the brass crane angle indicators added.

Thinking of stowage so a few items being planned for the rear bin on the deck. A few chains and oil cans possibly.

Cheers everyone for all the likes and comments, slow progress on the build I'm afraid

but a bit more done.

To keep the brass flowing on the build I soldered up the ammo box for the MG-3 and I'll modify

it to fit the Takom mount.   The mount needs more work as its missing a few bits and as you'll know I try not to shy away from sorting missing or incorrect detail

on parts. :frantic:

Modified the spotlight on the roof s that its in the stowed position, I think most crews remove them all together.

So, debating on which MG to use, I have the amazing Master MG-42 which is really a kit in its self

or should I just use the kit part which is really good but mine is bowed quite badly.

Here is the mount with ammo box and kit supplied MG-3, its not glued just dropped in place.

I think it will be the Master version.

Not the best pix but it gives you the idea.
