CMK WW2 USN pilots 1/72

I recently purchased, the 1/72 CMK  USN WW2 pilots set. They are beautiful intricate molded figures and I am so excited to paint them all. I only need one for my wildcat build. Here's  my question the first two pilots make sense, but the third pilots kit is different. I got the figures because I thought I could use them in my planned diroam of my wildcat. I wanted to do a Marine Bird at Henderson. So I know the early marine aviators basically had the same kit as the navy pilots. Anyhow just a lil background about the pilots would be helpful
