100SQN
Hi, Does anybody have any advice on how I could weather a 1/72 Chinook to represent those which fought in Afghanistan ? Many thanks Simon
exdraken
Mostly dust (low in fat ) and sand, so instead of dark washes and pre-shading, maybe yellow/sand washes, panel lines etc! Some oil/fluid staining around critival areas, engines... sand would stick there more easily and be darker Is that what you are after? 1
spejic
Try the US Army flickr site and then do a search for CH-47 (the lower search, not the one at the top of the screen). It seems the light green version of the paint scheme doesn't show much oil or dust, but the dark green could get very interesting, like in these photos (remove the space): https://www.flickr.com/photos/soldiersmediacenter/ 8682496973/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/soldiersmediacenter/ 5642903355/ Edited March 15, 2020 by spejic

Jabba
Here are a few that I took whilst on Op Telic at Ali Al Salam, after the Chinnoks had been on almost continous operations since that start of this conflict. I do have some pictures of CH-46s, CH-53s and UH-60s that were also based there if you want for comparison with the Chinook.
