Another fascinating snapshot of aviation history.

 

Whilst they were probably some of the first examples to enter service I do feel quite old seeing F-15s with FY 1974, 75 and 76 serials.

Yep, remember them entering service in the Seventies. 

 

There was nothing like 'em. So Cool.

 

So, if this is the 555th of the 58th, why is 74-05? the CO's ship, and 76-079 presented as 6079?

Good catch. It is the 405th Tac Training Wing. I've been scanning so many slides lately and more often than not "LA" goes with the 58th. Getting sloppy in my old age.
