Reini78
My dad wanted to build this now for a long time, finally he got to it. Using the old Dragon kit. Bought it second-hand some years ago. Decals aren´t usable anymore, so gonna use AIMS ones. hopkp
Just curious (being a big fan of your dad's work!) - how many builds does he have on the go at any one time? I struggle to concentrate on just one at a time, don't know how he does multiple builds and long may he continue to do so.....

Wow, that sounds like a real production line.....I'll be very interested to see the Ju 188 progressing, as I have two of them in the stash and the same AIMS decal sheet too. Richard502
At the rate your dad builds there must be quite a collection somewhere - and at the quality of builds a spectacular one. Are the two of you running a museum? Richard

Reini78
Some paint, drybrushing and Eduard PE seatbelts for the cockpit. Masking tape as seatbelts for the sideseat, also this one usually had no seat back I think. tango98
Hi Reini, Nice to see a 188 being built but one comment if I may, if I remember correctly (I’m away from my references at the moment so can’t double check)the instrument panel was not mounted to the control column but to a mounting on the inside of the cockpit framing. If it would help I will double check when I get back to my references. Cheers Dave Edited March 12, 2020 by tango98
Mattlow
Just looking at this. Nice build. Would have to agree with Dave above. The instrument panel was mounted onto the canopy framing somehow. I'll let Dave come up with the reference.. Matt

Greg Law
Interesting Reini I did exactly the same thing as your dad and raided the nightfigher kit. At first it was because the A sprue was missing and then became the nightfigher kit parts were much sharper moulded. This is the older A1 kit. I ended up getting the kit for free and then the nightfigher kit was a lot cheaper at the time. Win win for me. That instrument panel may be correct. Most models and drawings show it on the canopy frame. However, I have two good photos of the last Ju 188A1 torpedo bombers that clearly don't have it on the canopy. I like the way your dad did the switches using a bronze/brass colour which is correct
