Sea King HAR3 - D flight 202 Sqn RAF Lossiemouth

Recommended Posts

I finished this a week or two ago. Very nice to build into a decent representation of a HAR3 or 3A if you don’t follow the instructions to the word.

I enjoyed this build so I’m contemplating another Sea King but not sure which one to do next - RNoAF, an RAF grey whale, RN bagger or Junglie with a bit of AM thrown in.

Very nice indeed - a type close to my heart and an airframe that features repeatedly in my logbooks. Great result, but way too clean for an in-service Mk3!

It does have some subtle weathering, rotor blades, some oil streaking from the engine deck and light exhaust deposits - she had a wash two days ago😀

Been there, done that! Mind you, there were some that were so grotty that a wash didn't make much difference...we even had one with a tailboom that appeared to have been 'polished' with Scotchbrite, which made it impossible to remove the grime from the surface!

I think you've captured the look of it really well, and the finish is very nice.
