John Aero
G-ACNA when with Olley was O/A Silver with Bright mid Blue trim and letters. Hillman's ACEV was Mid blue lower fuselage and wing letters and White upper fuselage with Silver wings. The fuselage letters were half Blue on White and White on Blue, with Black outlines as on ACAN. CDL of Midland and Scottish might have been in similar colours to to their Airspeed ferry with White fuselage with Silver wings with Red struts, lettering and trim. G-ACKC of the Iraq Petroleum Co, could have been Silver O/A with Black letters. Please note that the Granger drawings show the incorrect ribs. The Dragon ribs were at right angles to the wing spars (like the Tiger Moth) and not to the fuselage centre line as often erroniously drawn.. follasha
Out of interest...I built a DH.84 last year from the Heller DH.89 kit, taking wings from an Amodel Moth and engines from 2 Airfix Tigermoth kits...here is the result IMG_6601 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_6573 by Harry Follas, on Flickr
