T-62 mod 1972 - Trumpeter 1/35

Hi All.

Usually Im doing two projects parallel - one in painting stage one in build. So if I'm feed up with one type of work can switch to other.

So this time something unusual in my warkshop - modern tank. I've got few more in my stash, so definitely not the last one. This is the "hero".

First time I've used the Master Club metal tracks. My impression? I his set wasn't super. Links won't fit together and every single one I have to file to make them fit. Pins are fiddle and carpet monster was happy to eat few of them. I still have few different sets so not saying that Friulmodel are better, but with this set I think I build the Friulmodel quicker.

Moving further. Rear fuel barrels not making "wow" effect ...

... so decided to remove one of the brackets. Also reproduced the fuel lines for fender tanks.

This is how it looks now. Not decided yet, maybe I leave one barrel on?

Your Tiran is the Trumpeter kit?

Yes. There is a conversion kit out there somewhere (I can't remember who produces it) that converts the Trumpeter T-62 into a Tiran 6.

Hi Kris,

a very good beginning, I am very interested in this model, I will also take notes of the assembly and painting for when I decide to make one. Could you please take some closer pictures of the fuel intakes?🍿

Cheers mate

Not sure what you mean by fuel intakes, you mean the fuel lines or rear barrels?

Hi Kris,
I wanted to refer to the copper wires that you improvised for not bringing them the kit. I think it would be the fuel lines, which connect the external tanks with the hull? ...
It's something I don't know why they include it in the kits ... and that bothers me for not having a clear reference to add them.

This might help you Francis.

I think that the 55 and the 62 fuel lines are similar. HTP's.

Sorry Francis, been busy at work. As John posted. I've done all the same and used the phone/network (cat5) wire. For joints I've used its own isolation.

Here some photos for reference from Internet.

Hi Kris,

Thank you very much to both, very clarifying and concise the information provided, and more than fast. Saved in its corresponding folder for when you start with one of these brutes. I have a copper wire, but the plastic one, I have to "dig" to see if I have anything that works ... lol
Cheers mates

I've made new tow cables clamps as Trumpeter's are solid inside.

Thank you, but this was only primer. So now some "real" colours.
