Joe M
I have made a good few of these Valom 1:144 kits over the last few years. They cost about £12.00 and for that you get two kits and a choice of four different sets of decals for the aircraft. If the choice includes Lozenge camouflage that is also supplied as a decal. At the moment Valom are doing 'Dog Fight Doubles' similar to the old Airfix kits. But with Valom you get four kits plus a choice of four different decals for each aircraft. I recently purchased a 'Dog Fight Doubles' set which contained two x Sopwith Camels (four choices of decals) and two X Fokker Triplanes again with (four choices of decals). All this for approx. £16.50. These have yet to be started. IMG_20200207_103713 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr But an earlier Valom Triplane that I entered this year at SMW Telford did pick up a bit of silver ware for me. IMG_20191117_105909 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr All the WW1 models are rigged with 0.071 wire. I also add the ailerons and rig them as well. I was hoping to have this little baby ready for either our Irish IPMS Nationals or SMW in Telford. But accidents happen. As I was getting ready to begin rigging I dropped it on the wooden floor which didn't take any prisoners, oh for a carpet including the monster. I ended up with a fuselage less both wings, undercarriage; tail and struts spread around the floor like confetti. I couldn't look at the remains, but since coming back from Telford (with my batteries re-charged) I've manage to reassemble everything. I cut new struts from plastic card, re-fitted the wings and tail, managed to use the original undercarriage and wheels and re-spray. I'm nearly happier now as I think that I was pressurising myself to get it ready. I cant seem to find the earlier photo's but I have a few from later in the re-build. The tail gun was shaped correctly for a Parabellum machine gun but as it was etched it was flat as a pancake so I added a round magazine to the side of it to give it that typical Parabellum look. stevehnz
That is quite lovely. Assuming those are standard Tamiya acrylic paint jars, it has a wingspan about the size of my little finger. That makes it also quite bonkers in my book. All strength to your steady hands & keen eyes. 👍 Steve.
Val_Ukraine
Amazing! I have only one question: Where did you get SO BIG Tamiya paint jars? Edited February 27, 2020 by Val_Ukraine

Mig88
Looks great indeed. Very nicely done. I have most of these Valom kits in my stash and I can only hope mine come out as well as yours. It's funny, two days ago I was looking precisely in the Rumpler boxing. I think this would be the first I would have a go at. Miguel

Especially for you. IMG_20200228_230724 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr IMG_20200228_230739 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr Cheers Joe M

obdl3945
And here's me going big with the 1/32 scale Wingnut Wings kits, and you're heading in the opposite direction with these 1/144 scale gems... smart work though, Joe. You must have bionic eyes! 😉 Regards, Paul

My main modelling scale is 1:72 but since I passed 60+ I have drifted into the smaller scale. I suppose that I should move up to 1:48 but I only made my first 1:48 scale kit last year, an Ansaldo SVA 9 two seater. The thoughts of moving up to 1:32 scale scare the poo-poo out of me. I'd have to put an extension onto the house!😀 IMG_20190426_161640 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr IMG_20190426_161422 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr Cheers Joe M Stick & String Rule O.K.
