LaurieS
Building a SeaKing. suspending it mid air. I want to suspend from the sling a 105 mm L118 light gun as their main artillery in the Falklands 1982. Any one know of a 1/48 scale model of this artillery. Or can point me to a good drawing of one with detail & sizes in order that I can scratch build. Thanks. Laurie

sandsmodels
there is this one in 1/56th scale, maybe a bit small for 1/48th though. https://sandsmodels.com/product/l118-105mm-light-gun/

It is about at 1/56 158mm long . If it was 1/48 it would be 182mm long. 24 mm difference ie one inch on a length of 6.5 inches. At 8.8 metres long they are quite a piece. About half the length of a SeaKing Thanks for that "sandy" be in touch. Laurie

Terry1954
You can still get the discontinued KFS 1/24 light gun here: https://kitformservices.com/collections/military-range/products/l118-105mm-light-gun-1-24th-scale-tq208 Wrong scale I know, but a great master for a downsized 1/48 scratch build! wellsprop
https://pinshape.com/items/102868-3d-printed-l118-light-gun-172-scale-model I plan to buy this and print it for myself, scaled to 1/48. This is an option for those with a printer! There's also this one, no idea of the scale https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/l118-light-gun-tixon19

Would love to see your in progress build and the completed diorama. I am thinking of doing the same thing but in 1/72 scale. It’s a challenge to hold the helo with thin wires, so I am exploring the options.
Kingsman
Were the guns sent South the L118 or the L119? The latter had a shorter barrel and was chambered for the US 105mm howitzer ammunition. We came up with this in order to use up remaining Pack Howitzer ammunition stocks for training, but many if not most export sales were the L119 version. I'm wondering if ammunition availability for the L118 and the possibility of captured Argentine ammunition (they still had the Pack Howitzer) made the L119 a better bet.
