The Mighty "JUG". P-47 N Thunderbolt by Academy 1/48

Recommended Posts

Your work is really up to the task of honouring the original Thunderbolts... Makes me look at my own N version with a look of "oh well, not too bad, but nowhere close to being RFI material".

@Johnny Tip, there's something niggling away at me from your post and I'm not quite sure how to phrase it...

I mean, it's always nice to see a bit of gold standard modelling on the forum, that we can aspire to, but that doesn't mean "only" (in my opinion....)

Nice to see the triers and learners on here, lessons learnt and efforts made, sometimes against the odds!

Nobody is standing in judgement, officially at least.

I say, put some up

Thanks Johnny.

I looked for a WIP. Alas.😔

Put her up for an RFI. If she’s anything like your fabulous diorama I have just seen it’ll be a little stunner. 🤗

@Johnny Tip I'm with Rob and Jont here :)

When I first joined BM my skills were limited but posting my 'kit bashing' prompted other members to suggest how I could improve and I learned, slowly, how to get better.

They are a kind bunch so I say 'go for it!'

Of course I still can't get close to Johnny's weathering but hey, it's a high bar :)

Ha!  You’re the one with da skilz Mr B. I just slosh things on with guidance from others. 😃  You’re right though, it’s a great place to model amongst friends.

It’s a plastic aeroplane and the end of the day. We all love plastic aeroplanes so no worries. 😇😍🥳

You always do!

That big blunt nose and engine leaps off the screen at us Johnny Blue-Nose. More quality paintwork and only to be expected from the master.... 👏

Looking fine so far. Nice old radio.  Have one old seventies here in a pure orange. Dosen't work anymore as a kitchen radio now, but I would never put that away anyway. So it will stay in my stash here for a further development in another decade of a past  century. Cheers

how do  you keep your work area so tidy.  Even your blu-tac is neater than mine!

those front end shots are looking fabulous (as is the rest)

🤫it was covered in bits of sanded plasticard and chunks of Martin baker ejection seat before I tidied up to finish the Jug. 🤫 but don’t tell anyone. They’ll never notice.  Thanks by the way. 🤗

Thanks. I was going to say “old”? but I guess it’s a bit old now. It is a DAB one so I can get Radio 6 Music. 👍🙌

Just testet it once more but only a brmmm and a front light. The kitchen work knocked it off ( I guess grease and dust are the major thinghs)  This one is in great condition , I think:

"Retro Styling" is the term we're looking for here.

Referencing the classic Bush /Pifco era.

As Benedict's table vinyl is taking it's design cues from the Yellow Submarine and Lucy in the Sky graphic style 📸
