Joe M
Hi Guys, I still don't know if I made a mistake or the struts supplied with the kit are incorrect. I have checked the model against the Albatros Datafile no. 71 and what I have done looks correct. So I decided that it was a matter of where to go next. I decided to work with the centre section struts supplied but to modify them to fit. I cut the N section into three separate pieces cutting vertically through at the junctions. First of all I added the front strut part to both sides. This necessitated a very slight shortening of the struts. Then I carefully shortened the in between struts until they fitted correctly and then did the same with the rear part of the N struts. I'm happy with the outcome and again it appears to fit the plans. Both sides of the fuselage before cleaning up and repainting. I always fit the propeller after I have finished the rigging. Keep safe out there. Cheers Joe M Stick & String Rule O.K.
Joe M
Rigging has begun using 0.122 mm wire. I hope to get it finished in the next day or two. IMG_20200418_224803 by Joseph Moran, on Flickr Cheers Joe M Stick & String Rule O.K.
Joe M
Got a nice bit done today in between going for a 3.5 mile walk in the fields around us and managing to almost fall over my self when shifting a heavy flower pot. I came out of it O.K. but unfortunately the flower pot did not survive! Any way on to the model. I got all the main rigging done. It all went on very easily which surprised be as there were some odd pieces. Tomorrow its the turn of fitting the ailerons activators and the wire for those. As there are only four on the upper wing and two on the tail I'm hoping that this will go as smooth as todays work.
