David Womby
This is Revell's ancient but still nicely detailed Mirage IIIE built as South African Air Force Mirage IIIEZ 842 of #85 Advanced Flying School in Pietersburg c. 1978. She is still wearing the badge of 3 Squadron in which she served until 1975. Comments and suggestions welcomed. David
stevehnz
I like the look of that David, nice job on her. Were the decals from the kit or aftermarket? Steve

David Womby
Thanks, Steve. The decals are mostly from an old Microscale sheet #72-514. The serials are homemade as I wanted to model 842 instead of 829 as provided on the sheet. The fin flash is also homemade on my inkjet as the Microscale sheet has red where it should be orange. The detail and fit on the kit are good. Really good considering its vintage. The only problem I had was the wing roots. I should have test fitted them a few more times and ended up using filler on the upper side. David
