Popular Post AndrewCJ50
Dear Colleagues Here is the founding father or is it the patron saint of Britmodeller, the EE Lightning! This is the Airfix kit boosted with Aires exhausts, Eduard PE, Quickboost air scoops, Pavla cockpit and Master pitot tube (which speared my finger on one occasion). Can't say it was an easy build regarding fit. The F2A was only to be found in 19 and 92 squadrons based in Germany and only 31 aircraft existed. They were operated by 19 squadron at RAF Gutersloh until 1976. I didn't want to do exactly the same aircraft as the Airfix markings so found a photo on the internet of this bird and used the Extradecal decal extras set for Lightnings The figure gives you an idea of the size of the beast Hope you like it? billn53
The Lightning is beautifully done, but I keep getting distracted by the hanger around it. Is that the one by Noy's Miniatures? And, it looks like you've included some items from the Hasegawa ground support set?

Mikey-1980
Beautifully presented and a superb build too! Love to find out what you used for the hanger please? My family were posted to Gutersloh from 1978 - 1982, with me being the "happy little accident" and the result of a good valentines night at Hans's bar....apparently...? 71chally
That is an outstanding build and diorama Andrew, the figures and the hangar really do make it very realistic looking. Love the Gutersloh F.2As aswel, and you've done the Airfix kit proud. Your photography and set up is obviously very good aswel.

junglierating
Excellent job. Just one question how exactly did they get that cab nose first in to the corner of the hangar 🤔
FatFlyHalf
I get the impression you had first hand experience of these machines and being in there! Super build and excellent presentation. One question though. Armed and in a hangar? Was that usual?

MarcNewitt
Where oh where did you get the hangar set from?? That is an outstanding piece of presentation right there. Absolutely brilliant. The hangar is by Noy’s Miniatures, and I’ve just ordered one for myself. Noys makes also makes hangars for Soviet and WW2 Luftwaffe subjects, and they come in different scales. 1
