"Sergey Kirov's Kharkiv Bus" - KhAI-3, MikroMir 1/72

Recommended Posts

I finished this build of the very strange aircraft from MikroMir. It is my first completed model from them and I was quite please with it. I hope Unkept will finish his own KhAI-3 with the same plasure and Moa will do his magic with his one too. I wish you both good luck.

There is the build thread and down below are the photos of the finished bird.

I hope you'll like it.

Cheers,

Andrew

@Unkempt is absolutely on the right track.

I already separated a few parts.

It will be hard to match your exquisite quality!

But I am sure we both will have fun and joy building it, which is what counts.

Cheers

Beautiful job on that Soviet oddity! The Soviets did come up with some interesting aircraft, which is what interests me so much about Soviet aviation.

You are right. Thanks a lot!

@Moa That's absolutely true!

Fabulous model of one of the strangest contraptions I've seen in a long time. Apparently, only one prototype was constructed and it appears to have been quite a handful. According to Wikipedia, "controlled turns proved difficult however the various control surfaces were combined." 😉

Superior modelling!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Fantastic! What an interesting and quite bizarre design - but a great idea to give everyone a good view! Great detailing work too and a fantastic finish. Very well done and very very interesting.

Cheers

That is a lovely model of a strange looking beast, and very nicely executed, Andrew.  Well done... ;-).
