Masking/painting tapered round things....

I do it with tape mate. 
 

place a piece of tape on your mat then cut curves using coins etc to trace around (not 20p !) then you can use those sections for bombs and radomes or similar. 
 

another is the flexible white tamiya ‘for curves’ tape.

Here is a cracking tip that I picked up elsewhere.  Spray the yellow band onto the ordnance first, apply one of these (or similar size mm depending on scale) and then spray the main green colour.  Remove the band and Bob is your Uncle.....

 

I have used this method a few times and it works a treat.

Heat-shrink tubing does the job too, and lets you control the width of the band as well.

Not tried this myself but I'm assured it works beautifully.....

Make a small pinhole in a balloon and squeeze your round / tapered thing through the hole to the desired depth....then paint away over the balloon mask.
