warhawk
While talking to a friend who was doing "homework" for his Ar234 model, I was surprised that he mentioned that the famous R-Geräte were actually used only a couple of times during the entire war. I find this in contrast with the vast majority of built models - 99.99% of them neatly showing the 'smokey-pods' attached under the wings. Sooo, my question is: Could any Ar234 with the 'lightened' upper camouflage below (either recon or bomber) be positively confirmed to have used it at least once? Thanks, Aleksandar
JWM
After scrolling dozens of Ar-234 photos in net I have found that one https://erenow.net/ww/hitlers-spyplane-over-normandy-1944-worlds-first-jet/6.php Cheers J-W
Jure Miljevic
Hello Here are two photos of III./KG76 machines with Walters attached and a third photo of Ar 234 B-2 from the same unit taking-off complete with assisting rockets blasting away. In L'Arado Ar 234 Blitz (special number of Aero journal) there is another photo of the same machine, taken probably only few seconds later. There are another two photos of operational Ar 234 B-2 planes here. Perhaps R-Geräte had not been used as much as it is thought these days, but ˝only a couple of times˝ does not sound quite right to me.
