Beaufighter TFX mk10 (1/48 Tamiya)

This half of a pair of Beau's  I have been making.

This one is in the markings of 45 Squadron, Tengah. Singapore 1949. Operation Firedog.

Decals are by Xtra decal.

It’s nice to see an unusual colour scheme on a post-war Beaufighter and one that’s not been “weathered” to within an inch of its life.

 

One very minor point is your collector rings; on the real aeroplane the colour varies across the chord of the ring, slightly discoloured steel at the front, darker bluish/blackish/brownish metal, fading to a lighter shade at the back.

 

I wouldn’t mind that model on my display shelf at all.👍👍

Though this is a modern flying restoration, it does give you a good look at the heat staining of a Bristol exhaust collector ring.

Though, on a late-war/post-war Beau, the collector ring could have been over-painted with black.
