Reini78
Already shown this in 2016 but from time to time I take new pics of older kits (formerly photographed with white light tent) with new background, lights and camera, hope you don´t mind😉 The FAG used Mustangs for anti-guerilla fighting in the 60ies and early 70ies before the a/c were succeeded by the A-37 Dragonfly. Hasegawa kit, Aztec decals, Mk.82 bombs from a Hasegawa weapon set, Gunze and Tamiya acrylics used. RidgeRunner
Very nice, Reini. I have one of these nearly done too, albeit in 1/72..... Mike @72modeler will love this as it is now flying as Happy Jack’s Go Buggy Martin Edited February 4, 2020 by RidgeRunner
72modeler
Roger that, Martin! Nice to see what HJGB looked like when she was sold. I really, really like this scheme and the walkways are very unusual- I don't think I have ever seen them on any Mustang before, but much nicer looking than the very broad ones applied to some restored warbirds. Thanks for thinking of me! @Reini78- that's a very, very, very nice Mustang- sure looks different in those colors- the underside wraparound of the upper colors reminds me of the Macchi 202/205 scheme! Well done! Mike
janneman36
Great build🤘 found some pics on the net from platinum fighter sales as they had one of the originals on sale... Now you can see how close you where with this scheme😁 What color did you use for the light olive Reini? cheers, Jan 2

However it - if true - is not in the scheme it had when flown to the US from Guatemala. There are photos on the net of the ex-service scheme and it was very different. There are also photos of 366 at the same time and it also had a different scheme. The ex-FAG aircraft had very sun bleached paint. The one shown in the Platinum article looks like a repaint! A mystery. Martin Edited February 4, 2020 by RidgeRunner
f111guru
What a beautiful F-51 Mustang. Well done, love the camouflage. I do have a very soft spot for and aircraft done in camouflage. somewhere in my stash I have a few (Hmmm) maybe Hobbycraft of a COIN F4U-1 Corsair. Bought those many many years ago. As far as Jan finding those mustang photos on the net. I've seen them before, again quit a number of years ago. Came across them when I was researching the PA-48 Enforcer. Again @Reini78what a beautiful aircraft. All The Best Ron VanDerwarker

A mystery. Martin True but i do think it is a partially a repaint job that they did on this and that the machine is still a mystery.. Or they painted it in the same style as the other ones that were imported.. It still has the black walkways in the original style (maybe the did a construction plate change as this was a strange period with exporting aircraft to the us and so on..) cheers, Jan

f111guru
Some of what I found when hunting for information on the PA-48. One is from Brazil, one to go with @janneman36 Jans photos. And the one @RidgeRunnerMartin was talking about. So to ad to ones collection. Looking forward to the Corsair COIN. RidgeRunner
Ron @f111guru, not Brazilian! Bolivian ...... And yes, you can see that the scheme was very different. I've just drawn out my masks for this scheme and started painting today. f111guru
Well I was unsure. Q'd the internet and FAB came up Brazil, but my initial thought was Bolivia and there again I did not go with my first thought. Pedro1
One of the best looking Mustangs around IMHO. You've done her justice Reini! And can't wait to see Ridge Runner's version in 1:72 (my scale). Peter
