Picture Perfect Spitfire

Recommended Posts

Airfix's Mk.1a Spitfire in 1/72, courtesy of Aldi for £4. Frame from EBay. Inspiration from elsewhere on here.

Some of the parts have been removed from the sprue and reattached facing the 'front' (I really didn't want to see the pilot's backside...) then everything painted in the usual way. No weathering because it clearly hasn't been outside yet!

Done for a bit of a giggle. Hope you like it...

That looks fun, nice display item, and saves having to do any sanding and filling!

I do like the ingenuity of that

If you suggest it’s not a model but a work of art can I suggest the picture title is “unbuildable”

Agree, but cleaning the flash off the parts and the sprue too ages! 😂

😂 Not sure I have enough wall space for a Victor - at least where my wife would allow it 😳!

Different and very well executed - an obvious solution for the Victor: turn it into a coffee table :)

I sure do! That looks great.

Forgive me, but this idea might get copied one day...

Fantastic idea, and really nice way to avoid problems with display space - you just need a very big wall for a lot of kits done in this way! :)

Give Eduard a few more years, and their "Look" series will  look a lot like this! Very neat concept and well-executed!
