gengriz
This is Zvezda's Helix kit, with slightly altered decals. A straightforward build "out the box" for my first real completion of 2020. and with my older Airfix Ka-25 Hormone kit: FredT
noelh
Nice. I built the Airfix Ka-25 when it first came out. The Kamovs are unusual looking aircraft. Almost science fiction looking.

Spitfire31
Very clean and neat Kamov representation! The design, while it may look unwieldy, has a number of advantages over the conventional helicopter form factor. For one, there's no tail rotor to walk into on board a crowded flight deck. More important, the coaxial, contra-rotating principle makes the Kamovs inherently stable and much less sensitive to gusty wind conditions. Flankerman
The co-axial system also means that all the power goes to the main rotors - rather than a percentage having to be used for an anti-torque tail rotor - which is why the Kamovs are much used in the logging industry. One disadvantage is the height of the rotor mast (to keep the blades separate) - one of the reasons that the Mi-28 won out over the Ka-50 - the latter could not fit inside an Il-76 without the rotor mast being totally dismantled.... Great model BTW Ken

IGKent
Good job! I have only one question.... Why there is no sagging blades?
