Peter W
Second one finished today and another Airfix 1/48th Spitfire, this time the Mk.XIV. I really am pleased to have one of these in my collection and I enjoyed building it but it just needs a lot of TLC to get a pleasing result. The fit wasn't very good in a few places and it takes time to get it right but it's such a beautiful mark of Spitfire that it's worth the effort. I added the Yahu Instrument panel, Eduard etched belts and the Eduard exhausts along with Xtradecal markings. Painting was achieved with Vallejo/Xtracrylix paints, glossed with future and then all matted down at the end with Xtracrylix matt varnish. On with the picture and, as always, comments welcomed. 72modeler
That's a beautiful XIV! Very nice colors and markings, too! Put the XIV and the Mk 1 side by side, and it's hard to imagine they share the same bloodline! 👍👍 Mike

Tiger331
Very nice..........I am a real fan of the SEAC markings..........proves the RAF was ahead of the pack in adopting low visibility markings !......(yes, I know they were adopted for other reasons but it has the same effect). Great finish and the weathering is spot on from my perspective. Well Done, Sir !
