Marlin
Hi. I'm entering a third build into this GB. And I blame @Rui Silva for his inspiring multiple Draken builds for it. I had originally planned to enter a S35 Draken, but I didn't have the AM part I wanted to use on it in my stash. But seeing all lovely Draken build here, I bit the bullet and ordered what I needed and now I'm going to build an S35 from F11 Skavsta. I'm using the Hasegawa S35 kit. And my build will be the boxart verison. 123 by Bosse Persson, on Flick I actually bought this at the Dansish Airforce Museeum in Stauning in 2011 and had planned to build it into a Danish RF-35. But now it's going to be a Swedish S35 instead. And this is all the goodies I'm going to use on it. Eduards PE sets, interior & exterior. 160 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Maestro's droptanks & pylons 162 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Maestro Apparat 15 (ecm pods), dropped flaps and pitot tubes. 163 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And as a matter of fact. I and my youngest son Axel are going to the F11 Museeum in Skavsta/Nyköping on Sunday to take a whole lot of pictures on exhibits of S29, S32, S35 and SF/SH37's they have in their collection. So I'll have my own reference pictures when I start this build. Of course I'll make my picture avaliable to everyone else in the reference thread. To be started and continued...... /Bosse 12

Rabbit Leader
There’s never too many Draken builds and I’m looking forward to seeing an S35E being built here. Nice to hear that you’ll also be taking in a visit to the F11 museum, which looks really good from their website photos. Cheers, good luck and have fun.. trickyrich
welcome along again Bosse, and I see you finally gave into temptation....you know resistance was useless! I have a feeling there will suddenly be a world wide shortage of Draken and Viggen AM bits for quite sometime! And I just love all that AM stuff you have as well! Good luck with this build as well, lots will be following it, and I look forward to seeing this one as well in the gallery.
Marlin
Hi I got asked on my Swedish forum what's in the box for the S35, so I'll put it here as well. This is what's in the box. 129 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 130 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 131 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Rather nice cockpit. 132 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Both Danish and Swedish drop tanks, I'll save the Danish ones for my JAS39 Gripen. 133 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 134 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Nose sections, Swedish to the left and Danish to the right. 135 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Exhaust sections, Danish to the left and Swedish to the right. 136 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Clear parts and decals, you get both the early and late style of canopies. 137 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But to build a more accurate S35 I've bought the following resin/PE for it. Maestros drop tanks and pylons. 138 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Dropped flaps, Apparat 15 (ecm pods) and Pitot tubes. 139 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And Eduards interior and exterior PE sets. 140 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Instructions. 141 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 142 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 143 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Colour options, You get four with the kit decals. Two Swedish and two danish. 144 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr As I see it, and I'm no expert on Draken, you can't build any of the alternatives directly out of the box. For a Swedish S35 you're missing a set of drop tanks, Apparat 15 and dual pitot tubes. And the Danish version are missing the Danish pylons and a set of ALQ-162 Ecm pods. But all of those are avaliable in resin. To be continued..... /Bosse 13
exdraken
Very nice! That boxing is a very complete one! Save for the fighter nosecone, all in there, no? Great AM selection too! Edited February 1, 2020 by exdraken
Marlin
Thanks Werner. The fighter nose is missing, but I wouldn't call it complete. As I've stated above, there is room for improvement in this kit. /Bosse
Rabbit Leader
So there’s a difference between the Danish and Swedish recon noses? I thought it was only down to the additional camera port on the Danish jet, however that Swedish recon nose looks way different. I’ve got the Heller 1/72 kit and am now not quite sure which recon nose that kit resembles. I like your 1/48 bits, looks like a great package even OOB. Cheers.. Marlin
Thanks Dave. I haven't built the Heller kits since I was a kid, so I can't help you there. But since Maestro does a conversion set in 1/72 to make a Danish RF-35, I'd guess the kit one is a Swedish version. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I've just made a small start on the S35. 156 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A bit more paint and then I'll add the coloured PE parts. To be continued..... /Bosse

The Danish nose does look quick flat from the sides, so perhaps I do have the Swedish recce nose. I'll have to take a second look and check some more photos. Nice start by the way Bosse. Cheers.. Andre B
You make me want to build an S 35 to Bosse! A S 35 crasched in Rolfstorp not far from Varberg (where I live) 1973/74. I had an idea to build that aircraft for many years. What I remember it was the same Draken that was on the picture of the Heller kit... Following your build! Marlin
Thanks Rich. Now that the J29 is almost fully painted I'll have more room (and time) for this one. So I guess we'll see some progress made during the next week. /Bosse
