Airfix 1/72 Curtiss Tomahawk IIB

This was one of the four 1/72 kits that were picked up from Aldi, a bit late in posting in this section.  I was trying out some freehand AG work, probably not ideal on a 1/72, but it's good practice all the same.  Not much to these kits, got to this on day two.  I think the nose cone should be red, so I will go with that and not the black.  Need to weather slightly, not too much as I am prone to making models look to dark.

Looks nice from here.  If you're concerned that there might be too much feathering, the late Ted Taylor used to tighten it up by hand brushing the other colour over the outer edge of the overspray.  Blended in under varnish apparently.

Now complete, usual problems with the 1/72 canopy, plus I fitted before apply gloss coat.  I have one left to build, might complete that one, then give up on the WW2 1/72 scales.  Shame, as you can fit more on the shelf.
