Coulson 130 down

I wonder if this might be fatigue cracking again. We have seen quite a number of water bombers go down to this, PBJs when they were used and C130s (including one that was filmed in 2002 when it crashed, the video is easy to find on YouTube if you so wish) have been affected badly in the past by this in the role.

With such a flight profile, flying low with a huge weight and releasing that suddenly, fairly sharp turns sometimes and in turbulent air over fires, flying rather a lot when they're needed and I imagine on a budget that is stretched quite fin far too often.... Well, we saw the consequences 26-18 years ago (a series of four similar crashes, two in consecutive days in fact)...

Pure speculation here, so take this with a pinch of salt.

RIP to the crew members and condolences to their families.

Not good to speculate until the investigation is complete. The 2002 accident as an older C-130A airframe. The C-130As suffered from wingspar fatigue issues when they were retired from military service.  This recent one was an EC-130Q (C-130H based aircraft)
