Best clear parts glue

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

After my recent mishap with super clear on my canopy of my eurofighter.

Im wondering what the best glue is for them? One which sticks well to both the clear canopy and the painted fuselage?

Going to try and get off the ruined canopy tonight and attempt to buff it up the best I can.

I've tried a few, but the best I've found is 'G-S Hypo Cement'. It's also good for PE.

Just remember to let the glue flow on it's own - don't squeeze the tube.

G-S Hypo is good. Options are Clearfix or PVA, both of which will allow you to remove the parts should it be necessary.

PVA GLUE!
Dries transparent, doesn't melt plastic, doesn't mist plastic, water based, dries slowly, can be pulled or scratched off after dry, excess wet glue can be wiped off with a wet cotton bud.

Wot he says, Plus if you let some PVA go a bit thick it can be applied with a cocktail stick as a gap filler along the edge of the canopy after its on

g-s hypo

I used to use this stuff(used by watch makers for gluing glass back on watches)but, stopped using it as it gets so stringy and became annoying, by the time you move the pin or cocktail stick to required part...……….a web like piece of string had developed, so, changed to PVA, ended up throwing the hypo away...………...

Formula 560 Canopy Glue... it’s a type of PVA, but strong, easy to apply and dries quickly 100% clear and colourless. OK, it’s more expensive than PVA wood glue, but I’m still using the same bottle 5 years or more since I bought it....
best,

M.

Reminds me of the modelling glue that comes in tubes.
