72modeler
Dov, What an incredible photo collection! I bet it's not easy to do in Israel, with their security safeguards, so double thanks for sharing them with us. I Lovethe photos of Ezer Weizman's Spitfire Mk IXe- glad to see she is still airworthy! dov
Hallo 72modeller. this are not my photos. It is one of the best aircraft photographer in Israel. I know his work, and I thought, maybe somebody else has interest in it. Aircrafts are usually modelled much too clean. IAF a/c are heavily used, and modelling them, should be like usually people are weathering tanks. I want to give new ideas for modelling this way. See, as I model tanks fresh from the workshop in contrast to battlefield worn down tanks. Take some idea, or joy of flying, and joy for modelling. Hi Mike I believe "The Black Spitfire" is an IAF jewel, a bit like the BBMF, it's been kept airworthy since the 50's and is an icon, both os Weizman's plane and as the first good fighter the IAF had. If you don't have it, and I think it's a lot easier and cheaper to get in the US, and Israeli Spitfire use is of interest, you need this (Just in case you don't already have it) Spitfire Mk.IX in the Israeli Air Force Service 1948 - 1956 https://www.amazon.com/Spitfire-Mk-IX-Israeli-Force-Service/dp/0977462706 $25 in the Amazon US, last I looked, £55 on Amazon UK.... 1

Mike You won't regret it if your thing is photos, (modeller's gold) 152 pages, 130 pages have 2/3 photos per page, the rest is profiles etc, so maybe 300 well captioned photos. It's a jaw dropper, sort of book when you first flick through you give a low whistle. The other two White Crow books, on the Avia S-199 and B-17 are the same, but obviously cover less actual planes. The B-17 one is amazing considering the IAF only had 3! https://www.amazon.com/Flying-Fortress-Israeli-Service-1948-1957 Check the camo 1602 had at one point... Isradecal do a very comprehensive sheet in 72 and 48th as well. There were more volumes planned, Mustang, Texan, Mosquito, Piper Cub... which have not appeared

SAT69
That's the first time I've seen photos of Israeli F-35s with national insignia on them. That alone made viewing the photos worthwhile. Many thanks for sharing.
