Eduard 1/48th Messerschmitt Bf 110D

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, my first completion this year.

A nice kit with loads of detail, a few fit issues around the engine nacelles and wing joints but nothing to demanding.

I chose the most colourful example on offer, an aircraft from 6/ZG 76 operating in Greece circa 1941.

MRP paints used throughout, followed by an oil wash and Alclad clear cotes to finish.

Additions I used were resin wheels and exhaust set plus a starboard engine.

Thanks for looking, gazza l

Really excellent 110, and not 'destroyed' by excessive weathering. What is there looks just right to indicate use, according to my eyes.

Except the prop blades look a bit over-chipped, relative to the rest of the airframe. Perhaps VDN had a batch of low quality paint? 😉

Impressive modelling.

Kind regards,

Joachim

Thanks very much Joachim.

A fair comment regarding the prop blades, I tried a new weathering technique, a brush soaked in enamel thinners

but I think I got the props too wet, hence excessive paint removal!

Thanks to everyone else for your kind comments.  gazza l

That's gotta be huge! I really need to build my 1/72 Airfix one I've had in the stash for well over a year...

It's not to big, the wingspan is just over 13" and looks quite small next to my 1/48th He 111.
