Sturmovik
This will be my entry build to this group, Italeri's Junkers Ju 87B in Italian service, or "Picchiatello." Here's the box art: Several sprues in light grey plastic, one in clear plastic, and a single photoetch fret. And the decal sheet, nicely printed by Cartograf. It covers four schemes, two Italian, one British captured, and the legendary Snake Stuka B-2/R2. I won't start building this right now because I have an Me 262 on the bench, but this Stuka will be my next project. Basilisk
Indeed, and using an Italian kit on top of that Enjoy your build. Cheers, Peter
Sturmovik
I was able to get into the bench today, and made some progress on the Picchiatello: Engine. Instrument panel: Wings: Cockpit: And, wings dry fitted to the fuselage. So far so good. Cheers!
SoftScience
Looks much nice than the Hasegawa kit.

It doesn't look bad, but if Hasegawa could do the balances for the stabilizers in plastic, why couldn't Italeri do them like that instead of using photoetch pieces? Edit: I bet the Hasegawa clear parts fit better than this kit's. Edited January 28, 2020 by Sturmovik
Sturmovik
Hello guys, I'm back with more progress on the 87: Engine cowling: Cowling and wings glued to the fuselage: Horizontal stabilizers glued to the fuselage: And, the ugliest part of the kit, the clear parts. I tried several ways of fitting them, but they just won't sit right over the cockpit, the middle parts are too narrow. I don't know what to do (no, I won't buy vacuformed canopies for this kit).
Sturmovik
I also almost lose one of the machinegun barrels (teeny tiny pieces), but I was able to find it.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
What about covering the canopy with a sun-shade/tarp to keep it cool. This was in the Mediterranean and that was common. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/80/0f/1f/800f1f613a351760758ec0419188eb95.jpg https://www.pinterest.com/pin/587016132650683791/ https://www.dreamstime.com/german-messerschmitt-bf-fighter-plane-world-war-ii-aircraft-was-backbone-luftwaffe-s-force-displayed-wings-image156993776 Dennis

I know I'll be able to get through.
Sturmovik
I got some time after daylight hospital to paint the model, and I decided to paint the RLM 71 first and then the RLM 70. I'm trying to see if I can avoid the need of sanding down the paint ridges caused by the use of a brush. The RLM 71 has been painted in several thin coats of paint, so all the panel lines remain visible. I hope I can cover the base 71 with two to three coats of 70.
Sturmovik
Great news guys, my experiment was a success and I was able to mask the entire plane without having to deal with paint ridges. Comments welcome!
Smudge
Looking good. I have some references for a captured RAF example, and I'm tempted to have a go at one. Interesting to see that this kit has RAF decals. Do you have any information on Giuseppe Cenni and his exploits?
