Hi Folks

I'm David, made some early Airfix models, Lancaster, Spitfire etc, in the early sixties. About eighteen months ago picked up an Airfix starter kit on a whim and it's been downhill ever since.

Currently waist deep in Revells Lancer B-1B 1/48 scale and hoping to emerge intact.

Preference is for Russian Cold War metal, but I like most things.

Excellent forum with a wealth of knowledge available.

Happy modelling. 🍺

Greetings from Western Canada!

Yeah, that ol' styrene addiction gets it's hooks into ya and yer screwed! You just can not stop. Liquor and drugs? No problem. But not that old styrene.

Warning! Stay away from any of the old Humbrol Authentics. That smell! It's too too good.

I see we both got that addiction at about the same time. Ah! That 60's plastic!

Chris

Hello David,

Welcome to the forum from the Land Of Enchantment New Mexico southwest corner of the United states. Agree with Chris on both accounts. The plasti-diction can bend you in different directions. My first model was an aurora 707- KC-135 on a stand and decals that were stenciled into the plastic mold. No doubt you will find all kinds of information and great modellers on this site.

Welcome along.  Also in to 1/48 Cold War jets - a Bone is in at the deep end!  Looking forward to seeing it progress
