vindicareassassin
Its been a while since I last posted anything to this site, but after some personal issues having been resolved and me trying to reclaim my hobby for myself that's destined to change I hope..... I managed to finish this last year and its been to a few shows (resulting in some damage and lose, but it's still worth showing I feel...... The 2 Engineers trucks are both fully scratch built and cast using my masters, the figures and Gerry cans and machines in the back of the QL are Milicast, the MW Bowser and motor bike is Airfix, the 2 engineers trailers, the tables, flimsies and the lift hoist are scratch built by me. Thanks for looking ATB Sean 31
Gorby
That would be good in 1/35, but in 1/72 it's stunning!

Good to be back mate, I've had an upper spine issue which stopped me model making all together for a while, it's still painful if I get carried away so 'making time' is interspersed with Figure/Miniature painting now, which isn't affected as much by my spine problem as I paint in a different position , more of a "heads up" position which takes the strain off it. All that was brought about by a brief flurry at trying to sell my own resin kits of my masters part time along side my day job, I pulled the plug on that after a year as I had no time to do my own stuff, it was a ball ache just tying to keep up with demand to cast and make new masters, and keep customers happy, in the end I had to pull the plug as I was putting in a SWMBO annoying amount of hours and not making a bean in profit to show for it. So, I've spent the last 6+ months trying to get straight again, bin off 90% of social media, reestablish my internet presence on this forum and do what I want to do rather than what I'm being goaded to do.... And I feel much better for it!! ATB Sean
Bullbasket
Glad to hear it Sean. Your health always takes priority over models. I know that it's not ideal, but I have one of those Humbrol work stations, and I use it when the temperature up in my hobby room is too cold to work in. I'm able to sit in my armchair and carry on with my modelling, and I find that, unlike sitting at a desk, I don't sit hunched up. Plus, I'm nearer to the kettle. Always an important consideration to any task 😉 I've made a special ball pivot holder that clips to my shelf supports at the back of my hobby desk, holds my figures and models at about neck height so my back is straight, I also sit on a tattooists saddle stool which also helps keep me up straight. As my problem is around the 3T area of my back, just between my shoulder blades and base of neck, the more I can do to make my work stay in front of my face the better. I'm also developing hereditary arthritis in my fingers of both hands, plus a trapped nerve in my left arm that makes my left hand go numb...... whom ever said "Age never comes alone!" was not lying, it appears 35 years in the Building trade has had detrimental effects on my well being, that's one thing they don't warn you of when you start 🙄 Sean.

There are a lot of members! It seems that there are not many occupations that don't have some effect on you to some degree. As a kid straight out of school, I worked in a clerical job on the railway. When I went into the army, at my medical, the MO said that I had a slight curvature of the spine due to working at a desk. When I came out, I spent the next 25-30 years in the oil/process industry. Seems the loud pumps/compressors didn't do my hearing any good. Still, as long as I can still stick some plastic together, I'll survive, and by the look of some of those brilliant models that you've turned out, so will you. All the best, John.
JeroenS
Great scene and so amazingly good in this scale! I hope your health issues won't keep you from making this kind of stuff!
Courageous
Nice to what can be done in this scale. Where do you get your 1/72 figures. Stuart

Stuart Milicast or Dan Taylor offer the best Commonwealth figures that aren't all "actiony", they're 1/76 effectively but whats 0.5 of a millimetre at 3 foot viewing distance 😉
Natter
A 72nd Machy wagon - seriously cool. It was a sad day when the British Army cast its Machy wagons. Knowing they were to be lost an Armourer mate of mine re-worked the head of his Escort Cossie in the back of one, working evenings and weekends before the wagon was lost forever.
