sanfrandragon
I picked this up for a song at Telford to see how I would get on with a Wingnut Wings kit before moving on to one of their more iconic, but expensive models. My progress so far (any tips greatly appreciated):

The wood effect is really nice, everything looks great.
Greg Law
That's very good wood work. Looks like this is going to be a cracker.
sanfrandragon
Latest update, I’m adding the fuselage sides. Seems a shame most of the work so far won’t be visible!
Marklo
Lovely work. This my preferred modelling era (well one of them) I’d even say I was quite knowledgeable about the period, but I have no idea what a Salmson is. sanfrandragon
Finished the engine, it’s a work of art in itself. I’m wondering if the rigging should be in French blue or black? I’ve seen both, even white, in other examples.
sanfrandragon
Starting on the decals. Unfortunately the gloss varnish has reduced the variation between the greens, and only visible in the photo I see there are some small bubbles in the blue V, which I will gentleman's parts and add Microsol, or I might just leave them rather than risk damaging the decal. Any thoughts?
sanfrandragon
Lol, the swear filter converted the action of using a needle to make a hole into 'gentlemans parts'.
Marklo
For more of that kind of thing Damnyouautocorrect Is worth a look. lovely build so far. As for the decal, I’d be inclined to do a little remedial work with the Microsoft. If push came to shove I’d even consider gently buffing out the bubbles and hand retouching any damage. sanfrandragon
Getting rigging on, hope this method will work! Finding it hard not to get glue everywhere though.
sanfrandragon
Just about finished! Except for the windscreens. I'm not sure whether to leave it in the gloss finish, or give it a matt coat. Any suggestions on weathering?
