I'm rapidly coming to realise that. In fact guess who's currently looking at photographs of the various Dutch and Italian 'Diana' tail-art while wondering what decals are available for some of them...

Sorry, not sorry.

I didn’t point you in this direction: https://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?keyword_search=F-16&setPerPage=25&product_type_id=all_decals&scale_id=956&search_direction=asc&save_search=1&pageID=1

I've started the decals on the tail and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Syhart decals, they really are superb.

Sean

Aha, I see what you'ere trying to do here :wicked: also trying to find decals for Italian Diana but they are proving elusive.

They're both in the Eduard Ltd Edition 1172 NATO Falcons boxing.  Long out of production but always worth a post in "Wanted" to see if someone has built a different version.

Unfortunately I can't offer mine as they are destined for an ongoing and a future build!

Hannants have the Astra / Daco Dutch version and Two Bobs Italian version in stock.

Mike

PS I do have the decals for the 60th Anniversary scheme if you fancy two Danish jets

I have no idea what you’re talking about  Hannants have decals for Dutch Diana, it’s definitely an eye opening scheme...

You boys are a bad influence! Which, to be fair, is why I like hanging about with you

Now you've got me searching for that kit!

While the 60th Anniversary scheme is lovely it's no Diana :(

...or you could just get them direct from Daco.

True and that may be cheaper than going nuts on buying umpteen decal sheets at Hannants because they post them for free :hmmm:

You know you want too :wicked:

Yes! Yes I do. Regardless of the fact I'm lacking money, space, and time to justify the purchase

Mmmmmm! Except it'll cost me over £50 even before Royal Mail whack on a customs charge :(

Why have I suddenly started liking F-16s? What have you lot done to me!?!

*Edit* After looking eBay I went searching on Amazon without any luck until scrolling down the page and seeing a line which asked "Do You Need Help?" Think they're trying to tell me something

I'll save it for @Col.  That's the set I already have.

Got it on sale, think I paid half that for it.  Saw it, liked the tail art.  "Hmm, 2 kits for under $30?  Sure, why not?"  :rofl2:

I have a solution if you can’t find the Eduard boxing. If you get this kit: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/K48036?result-token=vyoTp

It has all the pieces required to build a F-16ADF including photo etched reinforcement plates.
And then the Two Bobs decals: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TB48219?result-token=yshRB

Still not cheap but not $149! :D

On the subject of the Danish F-16, there should be more progress tomorrow night.

I don’t mind, if we can convince someone to convert to the dark arts of the F-16 then it’s all for a worthy cause. :evil_laugh:

Not cheap but a worthwhile project for a stunning result :hmmm: Tempting...

In the meantime I'm looking forward to more progress on your one.

F-16’s are a good choice if you want to build a modern jet with a more interesting colour scheme rather than the usual plain grey.

Sean

Mirage 2000s would also do....., or Tornados.....if you fancy alternatives ;)

Well, I've not managed as much progress as I anticipated. This was mainly due to the fact the sun actually made an appearance on one of my days off work...🙄 That meant I was able to indulge in another hobby of mine which is fellwalking. There are some pictures of my various wanders here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/186287381@N03/  for those that are interested.

Never fear though, it's supposed to rain again in the next few days so I'll make a bit more progress.

To keep Rich happy, I stuck myself in front of the bench tonight and last night. That resulted in me managing to finish the decals.

The landing gear is next on the list to be tackled, and then it’s onto the smaller details such as antenna and static dischargers etc. But it’s safe to say the finish line for this one is in sight. :D

Landing gear on. I had a bit of a mare with the wash on one of the MLG wheels, it stuck too well and I couldn’t remove much of it. I’ll just claim it had a brake failure on that wheel. :D

The next update should hopefully show the finished article.

Yeah it is a little surprising considering Norway and Belgium use the more modern launchers. The Sidewinder “weights” as you call them are actually smoke dischargers used for displays. The Belgians also use them on their display F-16’s.
