(...) You might be thinking up to know, ‘nothing really special‘. No big surprises. So, here’s something with the ability to change your thinking. In May, we will be releasing a 1:32nd scale ProfiPACK Bf 108. It is not from our original moulds, these hail from a company named Foke, and they normally are seriously involved with the manufacture of industrial robots. This was originally a bit of a side venture for the firm, and they came to the conclusion that it wasn’t their cup of tea, and so we were able to by the Tajfun from them. The good news is that we can offer this kit in 1:32nd scale, but the bad news is that there is not much in the way that would point towards more 32nd scale releases from our company. That is, unless the Bf 108 INFO Eduard - January 2020 eduard 5 suggests a big market for such kits, or someone doesn’t offer to sell us such moulds in the future. And neither is out of the question. (...)

the Bf 108 in 1:32nd scale. This is a ProfiPACK kit. As you are probably well aware, this is a kit who’s development was undertaken by another company, and was never finalized before the moulds were put up for sale. We bought those moulds and are releasing the kit under our own label. We also purchased the boxart for this item. This kit, under the original label and with the original boxart, was introduced and partially advertised before. We are planning to release this kit as per our established practices, meaning that it will first be released as a ProfiPACK kit, then as a Weekend Edition kit, and finally as one, or perhaps more, Limited Edition special boxings. The first, being released this month, is the ProfiPACK version. It follows the standard norm established for the ProfiPACK line, meaning it includes photoetching, masks, and five decal options. The kit also includes a resin wood propeller option. The reason that this is rendered in resin is that a wooden prop option was not part of the plastic components, but is relevant to many marking options.

Going to have to get this one. Looks to be a lovely kit for the money. I imagine we'll see some nice aftermarket civil schemes?

Hello,

has anyone here started to build this kit already? Two friends of mine did so and told me that the plastic does not react to Revell Contacta and Tamiya glue. After one day of drying the wing halves fell apart again. They used Superglue and Methylenchlorid to continue.

I will try with ABS glue, maybe it works.

1/32 scale Weekend Edition kit of German liasion aircraft Bf 108 (cat. no 3404) will offer Eduard’s plastic parts and 2 variants of decals. Comparing to common Weekend Edition kits it will contain also a wooden propeller made from resin. The kit is going to be released in August.

- WNr. 178, Stab II.(Schl.)/LG 2, Vyerdino airfield, Soviet Union, July 1941

During July 25th and 26th, 1941 several Hs 123 from II. (Schlacht) Gruppe Lehrgeschwader 2 attempted to land at Vyerdino airfield in Smolensk region. Due to the soft surface caused by a summer storm five Henschels were damaged. It was not the only non-combat loss suffered by this unit. Another aviator who lost control of the airplane in muddy terrain was a pilot of the headquarters’ liaison Bf 108 whose landing resulted in an accident representing 20% aircraft damage. Liaison Taifun was camouflaged in RLM 70 and 71 on the upper and side surfaces with the lower surfaces in RLM 65 sporting a yellow stripe on the fuselage tail indicating the aircraft assigned to Eastern Front. There is a so-called Infanteriesturmabzeichen painted behind the engine cowling, common marking on all aircraft that belonged to the close support air units. The tip of the propeller spinner is probably in the same color as an individual aircraft letter “L” i.e. red.

- Germany, September 1939

The German pre-war colors were used to camouflage this Taifun. Upper surfaces are painted RLM 61, RLM, 62 and RLM 63 colors, the undersides are RLM 65. The new camouflage was painted over the original factory colors thus the stenciling is not visible.
