Meliodas2019
Hi All, first time posting on here, I am just getting back into modelling and finding theres so much more than I remember. I was just looking for some advice on my stupid question, When I go to use primers should I use a colour the same as the colour the model will be? I am going to be beuilding lots of WWII tanks and with the yellows and greens should I use the same colour primers? welcome any help
Devo
Hi mate, I have never used a primer on my builds. I just paint them straight up the appropriate colours with a paint brush. I personally have never had a problem doing this. Maybe a gray primer for the green colours and a white primer for the yellow's?
Shin
A couple ways to look at this. If the green and yellow primers you are going to use are the same shade as your final paint colors, just use those instead of the paint. If not, using a single primer color for all your projects (grey for example) would save you money not having to buy multiple primer shades in addition to all the paint colors. Different primers could offer different color shading and modulations under a semi-transparent basecoat, but if you're using it simply as a base for your full opacity basecoat, keep it simple with grey primer.
