Graham Boak Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Was it the 1/35 IBG Scammells that were criticised for poor cabs (windscreen taper?) or have I been dreaming again?

Indeed it was , they had a taper on the outer sides of the windscreen , when they should have been parallel. The Thunder models Scammells appear to be the more accurate representation. 1
Paul Bradley Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Hmm, I wonder if Airfix will be doing Scammell Pioneers in 1/72 - guess we'll have to wait and see......
Graham Boak Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) Why Paul, whatever made you suggest that? However, if they did, I suspect it will be a better model than the IBG (to my taste) as IBG are well known for ultra-fine pieces that break too easily when removed from the runners.. However, they are also rumoured to be sometimes nearer 1/76 in scale. decisions decisions... PS or I might just buy the Oxford diecast which is to scale and doesn't add anything to the model stash. But I haven't yet. Edited January 5, 2020 by Graham Boak 1
caughtinthemiddle Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Two Scammells will be available in late April: Along with an A9.... 3
JamesP Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I take it things are still up in the air was whether the Airfix Scammells are reboxings or it is just a massive coincidence that both are releasing the same two variants?
Orso Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Rumours are that the Airfix kits are the ones that Thundermodels was working on but never released. Well, time will tell.
