Popular Post Luiz
Hi all! This model is from Special Hobby in the 1/72 scale. It was my 2019 last model. I find this plane one of the most beautiful WW II German planes. It was planned to operate in high altitude and this version is for photo-reconnaissance purposes. It´s not a easy construction job , because it´s a "short run" model : Vacuum formed canopy Photoetcheds Resin parts, and No reference pins/ holes for the assembly. The canopy is very yellowish due to the age... by removing the acetate excess and painting the frames this yellowish ton will disappear, almost... see the pictures: Hope you like it! Luiz. Spitfire31
Perfectly captures the futuristic and malevolent character of the 388. Impressive modelling and finishing, and excellent photograpy, too! Kind regards, Joachim

Greg Law
Well done Luiz. That is a great result from a difficult kit. Can you explain how you cleared that canopy up. I have one I would like to fix. It is very golden yellow. What did you use to achieve that finish?

These paints are prepared by a local manufacturer...they are automotive laquers...this guy uses RLM, RAL and FS standards for the preparation. Advantages : super fine pigments, excelent finishing and very fast drying time. Main disadvantage : very dangerous to the health...the smell is terrible! Regards Luiz. As I told before , when I remove the acetate excess the yellowish appearance diminished...and I also put the canopy in a Future liquid wax bath (immersion). Regards! Luiz. Do you mean the excess plastic. How does that remove the yellow colour on the parts your are keeping? Was it the future that did it, or was most of your yellowing only on the excess area.
