scottyphbeta Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 First one for a while as work has meant little time at the model desk. Trumpeter English Electric F1 of the Air Fighting Development Squadron, RAF Coltishall, 1961. AFDS was the first Lightning unit and was used to understand how to use the Lightning in RAF service. 55 2
Spad Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Nice job. What did you use for the NMF - looks very effective!

propforward Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 That is a superbly done model, I like it very much.
Spitfire31 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Excellent Lightning, and the NMF is very convincing. Kind regards, Joachim
FatFlyHalf Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 That is stunningly good. So often a NMF looks contrived. Yours looks outstanding, and natural. Bravo.
Vultures1 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Very smart Lightning with a superb metal finish - well done!
Meatbox8 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 A beautiful Lightning. The early witches hat versions are my favourites. A very convincing nmf.
agentbalzac Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Lovely early Lightning. The NMF is superbly and convincingly done. Only one constructive criticism is that port RAF fin-flash appears to be reversed? Other than that, brilliant work. 1

Thanks for that, hadn't even noticed but that's the second time I've done that recently.... will get that sorted sharpish 👍
George Norman Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Nice effort Scotty. Just goes to show you dont need all that Fancy Mig / Ammo / Alclads etc etc.

72modeler Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 OMG- she's a beaut! Looks like real aluminum! Best Lightning I have seen in a while. Well done! Mike

Retired Bob Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Superb looking Lightning, and I agree with everyone else brilliant NMF effect.
Booty003 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Nicely done buddy, very realistic finish. How was the build?

I find the build on these Trumpeter lightnings generally very good, cant compare it with a new Airfix kit as I'm still yet to build one. 1
F-32 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Love it, great to see one in a rarely seen scheme
